Seeing the seal at Watcombe Beach which was so incredibly peaceful and secluded, enjoying crab hunting and exploring Occombe Forest were amazing with Charlie. 6 stars all round to you both".

At any time of the year this property is ideal for a family, a couple with an infant or couples travelling together, or even a group of friends, since both bedrooms can be made up into twin or double beds with each bedroom having their own lock; whilst out of season it can also be offered to couples whom want extra space at possible reduced occupancy rates. Anthea, Andy, Tia (15), Jaz (12) & ‘Muddles’ came last October half term: "Honeysuckle was a warm, comfortable and cosy barn in a great location and ideally for us ‘dog friendly’. Well-equipped and perfectly positioned for the town shops, the three brown folders were fab in helping us discover the area with the map particularly useful. The coastal walks are stunning and breathtaking, helped by fantastic weather for October. Thank you. We would certain recommend to friends and come again. full marks 42/42!"

Honeysuckle is a beautiful cottage featuring two levels of comfort and quality. On the first floor you find two double bedrooms, with super king size beds that can separate into twin; beautiful furnishings with oak beams, comfortable beds, lovely duvets and sheets; whilst in between the bedrooms you find the stylish bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and basin.

On the other hand, downstairs consists of the modern kitchen, dining area and lounge. As you can see we have aimed to continue the goal of excellence furnishings, with two double settees, warm colour schemes, wonderful oak beams and pillars. There is a TV/DVD with a selection of DVDs available on request; Wi-Fi; cooker and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, iron, microwave, and toaster. Honeysuckle has been reknowned for its cosiness and warmth; with a family of 2 adults with 2 young infants staying in August, describing Honeysuckle of “how warm and welcoming it was and the feeling of it being homely and safe were just great”.

Threshing Barn

4 bedroom (can cater up to 8)

Since this property can cater for up to 8 plus infant, it is especially ideal for the extended family or two families travelling in the holidays. However with its flexibility in design (two of the double rooms can separate into twins), and ability to rent at possible reduced rates for partial occupancy outside peak season, it is also suitable for groups of couples or friends, whether fully occupying or partially occupying. Threshing Barn has been a favourite amongst the years for its space and comfort described by guests as "lovely and cosy", "everything you need", "spacious", and "all we could want in a holiday".

The first floor in Threshing Barn features three double bedrooms, a bunk bed room and two bathrooms. Each bedroom has beautiful furnishings with oak beams, "comfortable quality beds", lovely duvets and sheets, plus separate bedside lights that can be turned on at the entrance and/or bed. Each double either has king size or super king size bed, with two able to separate into twin occupancy. The bunk bed room is simply lovely and is actually a favourite of one of the owner’s teenage boys, so kids won’t be disappointed if they find themselves in there.

The bathrooms have been situated to service two bedrooms each. The first, with a roll top bath, is next to two doubles (one of which can separate into twin) and functions as a ‘Jack’ and ‘Jill’ bathroom, being ensuite for both but with locks to both room, especially ideal for the young family. This has a stand up shower, toilet and basin. The other is situated next to the other two bedrooms with bath, shower attachment, toilet and basin; perfect for a relaxing soak with a glass of wine.

Downstairs features a "modern very well equipped" kitchen, shower room, dining area and a beautifully furnished lounge. Many have complimented the downtairs living area for its space and comfort. For example, the Kinch family who stayed with us in March said that their highlight of the holiday was "watching our daughter enjoy making the most out of the space in Threshing Barn, what a joy!" Following on, we have aimed to continue the modern yet characterful feel through our furnishings with the lounge featuring an “L” shaped sofa and a double settee, warm colour schemes and wonderful oak beams and pillars. The lounge also has a TV/DVD with a selection of DVDs available on request, 2 comfortable bean bags and a rocking horse for the children and also has a large dining table to spend some quality and fun time together. The kitchen on the other hand features a cooker and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, iron, microwave and toaster. Finally there is also that all importantn downstairs toilet and bsain (with extra shower).

The Wynards, Murtagh & Euans families loved Threshing Barn describing it as “such a lovely place to stay. Comfortable, spacious rooms, very well equipped kitchen and a home away from home.”

The Old Manor Farmhouse

See Photos

2 Bedroom 2 ensuite bathrooms (2 double)

Graded by English Heritage of national importance level 2* this is a unique property within the English Riviera and a stunner though we say so ourselves.

The Linny was part of the Old Manor Farmhouse, dating back to the 15th / 16th Century and was made available for guests for 2016.

It has been designed to provide modern luxuries in an historical gem. Sleeping up to 4 with room for infants, it has been designed for friends , families (with and without infants), single couples or couples holidaying together.

Downstairs you are welcomed with entrance leading to a country cottage style kitchen with everything one could want and to the left a large lounge , large settees, and dining area. Included, as one would expect TV, super-fast broad band etc.

On the first floor you find two double bedrooms, each with their own ensuites. Each bedroom has beautiful furnishings with oak beams, comfortable beds, lovely duvets and sheets, plus separate bedside lights. In the master room there is 'hand made' kingsize oak bed, whilst the other double has the ability to split into twin if required.

To the front is a lovely cobbled garden, walled to three sides, picketed fenced to the other and secure, with seating to take in the rays and have a nice glass of wine or cool bear. Whilst to the side, extra garden with giant trampoline (that garden being shared with Pilgrims Rest Cottages)

Gareth, Kellie, Megan, Lottie & ‘Oscar’ came in August saying: "Thank you very much for having us and for your warm welcome. We really had a fantastic time. The Linny was a lovely place to come back to and relax – very peaceful. Your info packs were really helpful to plan our days and we won’t forget the beautiful beaches, having so much fun with the kids and dog!"

Gardens

On top of Pilgrims Rest’s beautiful cottages are the wonderful gardens. From the sunny courtyard at the entrance of the properties, to a beautifully furnished orchard garden featuring an oak table and chairs, sun loungers and a BBQ to enjoy in those blissful summer evenings.

Many families, friends and couples have enjoyed the garden areas, the Poole family who stayed in September said that one of their highlights was that they had a “lovely time with our extended family afternoon tea in the garden area”. We also have a trampoline which is situated left of the walk path at the entrance which has been enjoyed by many children (plus adults!) who have stayed with us over the many years.

The Barns are part of The Old Manor Farmhouse, 16th Century Devon longhouse. Stunning oak beams; enfolded by cob and stone structure - yet with all the mod cons. King-size beds; roll top baths; TV/DVDs; washing machines to name a few but how about some extra pampering on site such as massages, manicures, pedicures or facials.

With an excellent selection of local shops, they are situated with the countryside and beaches to the North and East, but to the south all that Torquay offers as a year round resort with shops, restaurants, cinemas, theatres, sailing, tennis, squash, diving, golf, fishing, tenpin and green bowling, saunas, steam rooms, Jacuzzis, pools and zoos! We have found, and are sure you will, whether you like to walk, rest or play there is something for all.

Positioned near to the home of your hosts, do you hate finding the right restaurant, pub or attraction at the end of your holiday, having wasted days getting to know the area ?! We certainly do, so as such we have done the hard work for you. We can let you know local attractions, phone numbers, restaurants, takeaways, sports venues or events that we have or would use.
